Where We Stand

Volunteer Emergency Workers

East Hampton is fortunate to have the dedicated service of many volunteer emergency workers, including ambulance and fire fighters all fully trained for their jobs. Next time you hear a distant ambulance siren in the middle of the night, remember that a volunteer is at the wheel while other specialists who have alerted hospital ER by radio attend to the patient. Property taxes of these volunteers have been reduced by 10%, extremely modest compensation for their lifesaving work. To volunteer, call your local fire department.
